And the last thing I need or want is a person of BK's belief system defending me.
Hey! Discuss the topic, not the posters! Enough of this personal crap! Chill or be chilled!

Is you're wife a member? Because if not she should be fair game!

Stop abusing your authority

Since he is also a mod, he's fair game. Yes an interesting exception to the rule as written.

It comes down to "YO" vs "YOUR" the first is acceptable the second is not.

And yes, I can't believe I actually responded to that one.

I was completely surprised there weren't more pardons. I can only guess that Bush knew Democrats would be to pussyfooted to actually call him on his crimes.
It might have more to do with him having good legal advice about the crimes you imagine, and you being a complete ignoramus on the subject of law.

[rah] Whether it be a few fun pardons or getting a little head. I just think he shouldn't have lied about, and when asked, should have answered "sure I did, what's your point" That would have kept him out of trouble. With everyone except Hillary, so I guess that tells you who had him by the nads.

hey, he's lucky, he insulted my wife and I didn't ban him. And how can you say back-stabbing? It's not like I'm hiding it. He posted in this thread and has even responded to my comments so it's not like he's not going to see it. And I haven't been saying something nice about him else where, so how you determine that it's back-stabbing is beyond me.

And you were the one that put yourself in the middle by responding in something that's not really your concern, so why should I care what you think about it.

And he knows what he did and where he did it. I'm not going to put a spot light on it anymore than I already have.

So please leave it alone since it's not your concern.

At least you're smart enough to make me the target and not my family.
And I'll stand by my choices in this thread. I'm sure you've always been a saint.

The man insulted my wife. He doesn't get dignity in return. And if he ever does it again he will never post here again, and every other owner/mod will back me up on it.

SO no it is not your concern.

Yep, Texas governors do not get much practice pardoning, because they do not have pardon power. The power is in the Board of Pardons and paroles, and all* the the governor gets to do is either approve or veto the Boards action.

*with the exception of a one time per capital prisoner 30 day delay of execution that he can do on his own.

In 2008 they also passed a bill granting retroactive immunity for telecom companies that cooperated in warrantless wiretapping, which Obama interestingly voted for. I guess we can expect some more of those shenanigans in our hopeychangey future.
