The act bosses get some ridiculous bonus (x10 IIRC) against minions and summons. That puts the necro and occasionally the druid at a distinct disadvantage. Lord Avalon has the right idea.
You might want to grind until 30 to get bone spirit. At level one it's not much good, but it could eventually become your bread and butter attack. |

You can do a summonmancer without dealing damage to anybody, even in the beginning of the game. Just put a point into skeleton mastery, and raise a skeleton from the stuff that the archer can resurrect for you. It's slow, but it's hilarious. The hard part is getting your merc, but if you wait long enough you'll have a clay golem, and the golem can take out Blood Raven.
End bosses are a bit trickier. The solution there is to use a Clay Golem, not a Blood Golem. Clay Golems can slow their target by 30 percent. The other thing is you can keep resummoning them on the boss, until you run out of mana poitions. To defeat diablo without any curses or spells, you make sure your merc stays alive, and as many skeletons and mages as you can preserve, and keep summoning the clay golem, since Diablo has to kill the golem before he kills you. I've done that on normal level hardcore, I made it all the way to Nightmare Act 2, but I lost the character when my laptop went kaput. |

I kept the Act 1 hireling. I think I have expansion pack. I give my hireling my second-best equipement.
I am up to level 30. I guess it's my mistake that I didn't use these bone specialities AT ALL. I have now level 1 claws or whatever, and level 1 next thing. One more level and I'll get bone spear or whatever. |

Spirit has homing, spear has piercing. It's a matter of taste.
You can't pull gems out of socketed weapons. You'll come across a better shield soon enough though. The yellow potion I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it's mostly useless. I only used red, blue, and purple. Here's a link full of info on all different weapons and skills and everything. It's got some spoilers, but spoilers aren't really that big of a deal in Diablo. I will make a screanshot.
But, in general, I invested mostly in skeletons and skeleton mages, though in golems as well. I finally killed Diablo. I had to resurrect my hireling 20 times or so, and myself 15 or so (when I was killed, I had problems getting to my corpse before he snatched me). Running, hitting, sending ghost, running and stuff. I thought it's the end, so I saved without taking some nice weaponry he left me ![]() I am in some new thing now. I don't recall that from my last game. |

DON'T ignore your curses!
Amplify damage is a marvelous one point wonder that will make your minions far more effective. If you have access to decrepify, it will slow big D down AND reduce his physical damage, as well as increase your minions' damage. What is you skeleton mastery? Clay golems are useful even in high-level play. Most players fall to D's fire attacks. What is your total fire resistance? It should be near or at 75% by now. For that matter, what is your lightning resistance? Put one point into your summons' resistance. How well is your rogue equiped? You're giving her the best finds, right? |

Poison won't kill you directly, but it drags you down to one hit point faster than anything else. Elemental resistance is next. A necromancer should have enough bodyguards to keep the physical damage to a minimum. If all else fails, try the bone armor. It has synergy with bone wall and prison. |

I've always had far more trouble vs the lightning "hose" attack even when my lightning resistance was maxed at 75% and my fire was only at 50%. |

The attack I'm referring to has a red graphic so you may have assumed it was at least partly fire based. Well, I knew it's not fire, but I didn't know what it is. He does use "normal" fire, though, and that's what I wanted to be safe of. When it comes to the red thing, I simply runned out of sight if he was using it ![]() |

Fire resistance is 32 with one armament set (without a shield), or 67 with the second armament set (weaker weapon, great shield). I can easily make it 75%. Lightning resistance is 55%. I have weak poison resistance, though. My rogue is well-equipped, though I should find her a new bow. How do I put one point into my summons' resistance? |
