Sloppy on McCain's part to say something that could so easily get turned into a talking point, always use SAFE words to describe your opponent like "my opponent" or "Mr. LastNameOfOponent", guaranteed way to not screw up is too never use anything thats not on the safe list. Heck just adding a title would have tempered it a great deal "that Senator voted for it" or referring to himself on equal terms "this one voted against it" rather then "I" would have spared him some grief.
