Take Levi's, for example. I have not had a pair of Levi's last more then 12 months without shredding in some strange place for quite a while.

I used to be able to wear a pair of Levis for many years.

Good luck when the drive for cheap has taken over the retail, distribution, and manufacturing sectors. So you're saying there's not enough demand to support production of the type of product you want, at the prices you want? Boo hoo.

Anyhow, I love WalMart for some things. Hate it for others. I've had several friends 'work' there, and be specifically kept just under full time hours to prevent them getting full benefits and the like. Maybe unionized WalMarts wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Since Dems traditional solicit/pander for votes from Unions, AND unions then tell their members to support dems, what's the problem with a company suggesting that their non-union employees support a REPUG.
I really see no difference. There isn't any. And of course the two sides can point at each other to justify such things (we have to b/c they are doing it). Yay.

All of it was totally illegal, and I never knew about it untill I reached a certain level of management where they figured you had too much at stake to blow the whistle. But since unions also do lots of illegal activities, I really didn't have a problem with it. Disappointing, rah.

If unions played by the rules, I might have had a problem with it. So feel free to be disappointed.
Unions had a real good purpose back in the old days. Now they're corrupt and more interested in their own existence then actually helping who they were formed to help. I actually felt it was my moral obligation to not support them.

Actually I'm slightly disspointed that you support unions considering how corrupt and damaging to it's members they've become.

Don't get me wrong, I fully support a workers right to collective bargaining. But I don't support the physical threats of violence to coerce people as part of it.

My disappointment, by the way, was not that you supported management instead of a union.

My disappointment was your line of reasoning:

Oh, this thing was totally illegal and wrong and stuff, but because the other side did bad stuff I was ok with it.

Seriously?

IIRC ZK is a union lawyer... so he's one of the corrupt guys you're talking about, apparently.

Fixed.

The current thing I'm working on is that management "forgot" that we're supposed to have a 3% raise in our paychecks today. So tell me more about how UNIONS rip off their members.
