The key to the trick was when they duped most of the FARC thugs into beaming over to the USS Enterprise, which the crew had secretly abandoned and left on a timed destruct sequence.

This is an amazing story. Fiction has nothing on this.

There's nothing good about the US or Colombian govts. 82% of the Columbian populous (propably more after this) disagrees with you.

Colombia Lied? Huh? Now who woulda thought Colombia would lie about the FARC?

Originally posted by Forbes.com PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Leaders of the Colombian FARC rebel movement were paid millions of dollars to free Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt and 14 other hostages, Swiss radio said on Friday, quoting 'a reliable source'.

The 15 hostages released on Wednesday by the Colombian army 'were in reality ransomed for a high price, and the whole operation afterwards was a set-up,' the radio's French-language channel said.

Saying the United States, which had three of its citizens among those freed, was behind the deal, it put the price of the ransom at some $20 million.

For those interested...it's not mentioned, in the translation for this Swiss claim, that the payment was supposedly made to the captured guerrilla commander "Cesar" not to the FARC organization.

In other words, more than a "ransom", the Swiss allegation is that it would be a bribe or reward to "Cesar", who was on the helicopter when this all took place.

If you want to look this up, it's even on Wikipedia, to make it easy.

Oh well, what the hell does it matter...Ingrid is free, and I say bye.

Seeing how a FARC leader was captured in the operation, the bribe theory seems weak. If it is true and FARC sold-out one of its own leaders then their not showing a lot of internal loyalty and will probably crumble as members sellout the leaders who are selling them out.

In the American Revolution we just held Cornwallis' dogs, and they wanted to stay........

ACK!
