Are they going to start annulling marriages where someone becomes paraplegic in an accident? Or when you are known to be sterile?
Don't these people read their Bibles? With God all things are possible. I'm pretty sure it says that in there somewhere. Also, some lady who had been barren all her life had a child when she was 90. Right? Just because someone is impotent/sterile/barren now the church loses all faith... I see. ![]() |

Yes, Catholic marriage includes consummation. If there is a pre-existing medical condition, it's a requirement that the other party be informed of the condition, and that it will not be an impediment to the marriage. AFAIK they would have to get a dispensation from their bishop first before they could have a church wedding, but with a well documented disability and the wife being aware of the medical condition, I don't see why the priest wouldn't abide by the dispensation. Thanks for bringing this up bebro, I'll pass this onto some friends of mine. |
