The law passed by Congress. Duh?

Persons/organizations in the government are anxious to amend the Constitution in various ways - Anti-Abortion & Anti-same-sex Marriage are just two examples off the top of my head ... But no one has put an amendment forward concerning taxation...I wonder why.

Yes they have, see the 16th Amendment.

Babbage said it best:
I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke your comments.

a loud and crystal clear message to all tax defiers that if they engage in similar tax defier conduct, they face joining him in a jail cell with Snipes

Ah, you are right with your point Kuci - on the Federal level - although there are still different interpretations of the 16th Amendment as far as the span of that amendment.

As a caveat - Yes, I do pay my taxes.

You are either badly missing the point or being very obtuse.

I don't think it's enough to put him in jail.

They should cryogenically freeze him and stick an electrode in his brain to teach him martial arts knowledge while he's sleeping.

Then they should examine Sylvester Stallone for tax fraud and see if they can do the same thing to him. If not, then jaywalking charges will do.

They shouldn't forget to allow foreign-born citizens to become president either then.

*thinks about this*

In which case he'll be busting out of prison on his own pretty soon then

Hey, at least in Rising Sun he wasn't some stereotypical action buff, Murder at 1600 too, both could be called "acting" even by your narrow definition. Hell, the guy was even in those chick-flicks Waiting to Exhale and One Night Stand which were as acting-ish as you can get, not that I've ever seen them or anything though. No really, I swear I haven't seen them...
