It isn't true. It is just uncomfortable if you have a really full stomach... I heard the basis of the belief is this. You have only so much blood. Usually, the stomach doesn't use a lot, only when it's digesting food. Muscles at rest don't use a lot, but they need it when they're working. Using both your skeletal muscles and your digestive muscles at the same time could overtax your blood-oxygen, leading to cramps. ![]() |
