Jesus, dude. Are you sure it's still in there? I've swallowed things the wrong way before and for hours afterward it felt like there was something still there, but it was just irritation/swelling. Is there anybody there who could look down your throat with a flashlight?

I'd be very nervous going to sleep with something lodged in my throat.

I'd be very nervous going to sleep with something lodged in my throat. It might be swelling, I'm not sure. I can't see it myself and there's no one around.

And yeah, the reason I asked is I'm nervous to go to sleep.

It's a candy so it's meant to dissolve...I just want it go faster.

I also tried the upchuk method, but all that's given me is swollen eyes. I'd imagine a clinic could take care of it for you. If it's making you nervous, just go deal with it and get it over with.

I insist that he must drink water up his nose... the candy is in airway...

If you really try this; post your results!

I called the 24 hour "registered nurse" telehealth number for Ontario but apparently it is hugely backlogged...

I'm going to try to find a 24 hr clinic, but there's not many it seems in Toronto

Is it inevitable that it will eventually dissolve?

Just got off the phone with an RN for Ontario Health

She said she's 99% sure it's just swelling (since I did induce vomiting as well, etc).
Her official recommendation was to go to emergency (there are no 24 hr clinics in Toronto!), her unofficial was to sleep on it.

I ate a sub for lunch and pasta for dinner without issue, so the chances of something blocking it surely aren't too high.

I'll tell you a possibilty. It's that "hangy down" and you're jacking with it, about to rip it out. You're not drunk or stone are you? That adds to the possibility.

The heat does help to ease pain, but it increases swelling.

That's why you're not supposed to put heat on a sprain for at least a couple of days.
