Default What's the Closest You've Been to George W. Bush?
Same hotel ballroom, about 6 feet away. Had the chance to shake his hand, but I passed.

One time when I was in grade school I was really mad at this other kid because he was saying mean things about my father, so I started spreading rumors about him to get all the other kids to hate him. He didn't really care though, so I ended up just punching him after school.

I was a couple of hundred yards away when he arrived in Washington on Marine 1.

Maybe he visited Montreal too and I was close. I dunno.

I went to his first innauguration. (Well... the trip was planned before the election, I was rather hoping it would be someone else's innauguration )

He came to a senior living residence in my community, to talk about Medicare Plan D back in 2006. I was in the same conference room as him but didn't get close enough to make eye contact or anything.

His father, George H. W. Bush, was in Beijing in early 1989 after just being inaugurated. He stopped by the American Embassy and the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts stood at attention to welcome him. They took a picture with him and Barbara and I was right in front of him, largely hidden between two tall Boy Scouts who were in front of me.

I was 8 at the time.
