Another good question is being asked by the Guardian. Much of the Bush strategy in the "surge" has been to bribe local Iraq's into giving up arms and helping to go after extremist groups like Al Qaeda in Iraq. Cracks in this strategy have now become so large it is impossible to miss them as tens of thousands of Iraqis drop out of the system in frustration.

Sadr's men have no fight in Mosul. Also, blowing up cars in shiite neighborhoods of Baghdad is not their MO. As far as I know, his followers couldn't care less about Baquba. They've got no dog in the fight in Kirkuk.

That leaves the attack on the green zone which could have been carried out by Sadr's men.

The daily drip, drip, drip of blood dominates the news but is not the big story.

What I'm interested in -- and rarely hear about is:

(1) The steps, if any, the Iraqi government is taking towards reconciliation between the Kurds, Shia and Sunni Arabs.

(2) The reconstruction, if any, of Iraq.

Also good to hear balanced and reasonable arguments from our Texan friends.

It is so sad that Oerdin prays to God every night for more casualties so he can pretend he wasn't wrong about the surge

This month is on track to be one of the least deadly for US troops since February 04 (with the exception of December 07) and Oeridin is talking about "huge cracks" in the strategy

I love how Patty ignores all of the facts the Guardian brings up. Typical.

But you knew that already, didn't you? I knew of the report post link but didn't think it applied to trolls.

Reported as a troll. Not that it has any meaning here anyway but i find that claim hard to believe.

Meant as "your debate skills suck".

Sometimes posters go over the line.
It is not wrong to alert the mods when this happens.

It is not wrong to alert the mods when this happens. I guess that you spend 23 hours of your day reporting MOBIUS posts then

The simple fact is, my comment being obvious sarcasm, Oeridn has a known history of exaggeration/fabrication/manipulation when it comes to Iraq. If you were unaquainted with him you would have no choice but to believe he wants nothing more than for the surge to have failed, even if he has to make it up himself.

Everything I said is backed up by the Guardian new article. Go ahead and watch it. Oh, but that would require using facts and having reasonable debate skills which you don't have ergo you jump straight to personal attacks. I think lots of people have you pegged Patty.

Also, for the record, I don't want the surge to fail. The fact is that it was always at best a stop gap measure not a lasting solution and that's why it isn't going to lead to "victory" what ever that means. Your usual fall back line that liberals hate America and want it to fail is getting old, patty-cakes.
