What the **** is a Triggs Thing? First time I heard this word.

Gee, thanks guys. Nobody's ever noticed me on OT before.

Maq, even though it was my birthday, yesterday was not a good day. I was all set to post a virtually completely redone user interface for the source code project when my external HD, which had all the sources and ldl files on it, crashed. I may have to start all over.

If it crashed as in physical-moving-parts issue, try the freezer trick - put it in a freezer for ~8 hours, and then take it out and plug it in. Fixes a lot of crashed HDDs, oddly enough (temporarily, though - move all files off it as soon as possible. Sometimes the fix can be as short as a few hours.)

I figured you'd be the kind of person wise enough to keep back-ups

Be sure not to declare the HD dead without trying SpinRite though, I've been able to bring back several supposedly-dead HDs with it over the years (though even if it works, as snoopy says, the first thing I'd do is back up the data).

How old are you now, 85?
