A modern jewish country ruled with laws like the ones of the old testament would look like saudi arabia. The jews of Yemen were still polygamous in the first decades of the XXth century. I also think the catholic church and the orthodox church are the only ones who can claim being the church jesus founded, but I picked the catholic church because you can find catholic churches everywhere in south america, the papacy, and because Rome was not conquered by Turks I don't remember anything about popes and cardinals and inquisitions in the bible |

your whole 'judging the entire jewish people and history by the deeds of some' reminds of the following joke: a drunk person sits in a bar, moaning to the bartender: "do you see that bridge over there? you know, i built it. yes, i built all the bridges in this area. I have been designing bridges for 30 years since i was young, and i built dozens of them, even very famous ones. Does somebody talk about it? Do they call me, George "the bridge builder"? Nay... ...but you shag one goat... but more seriously - trying to equate jews and zionists or inserting ethnic-religious issues in a political context is one of the surest signs of anti-semitic undertones; be they intentional or sub-concious. it lumps together zionists, non-zionists and anti-zionists alike. It is terribly false, and not funny. you could tell the same joke about israelis, and i'd be somewhat annoyed having disagreed with your definitions or the lumping together of all israelis. but that would be legitimate humor. even somewhat funny. your mentioning of a political middle eastern issue in a topic that until now (mockingly) dealt with issues regarding the religion / customs , is not funny. This is sad. |
