I was watching the 700 club this morning and they were saying that if you give to God, he will give back to you many times over. Nice theory for our economic problems. Replace God with oppressive tyrant and you get communism. You should be all about it
![]() They are normally talking about charity, not a government economic policy. |

A priest, a pastor, and a rabbi were standing in a field where they found a large sum of money. The priest says, "Let's draw a circle in the ground. We'll throw the money up in the air. What falls outside the circle, we give to God." The pastor says, "No, no, no. We'll throw the money up in the air. What falls inside the circle, we give to God." The rabbi shakes his head and says, "No, We'll throw the money up in the air. What God wants, God keeps."
The rabbi's the only sensible one in the bunch. God doesn't need your money. |

Oh sorry, I forgot that there aren't any theories in the Bible. Only facts. No, it's just not an economic theory. Economics is a social science that applies to transactions between humans. I don't know much about economics, but I know that vague promises based (presumptively) on scriptural exegesis don't count as "theories." I also dislike that you're implying the 700 Club is representative of Christianity as a whole. Maybe if you'd said "fundie pseudo-economic non-theory." |
