Lancer, When she started college did you tell her that she "had to maintain a 4.0 average?"
Just because she received a "B" vs. an "A," repremanding her for it seems rather drakonian in my mind. If she was failing or getting close to failing (C- and below) I can understand a reprimand...but for getting a "B"?!? Children today need to enjoy their childhood while they still have it. Granted, a child might slip from a 4.0 average to a 3.something average on a given semester - but that is no reason (in my mind) to call out the Inquisition on her... ![]() |

College students are a little old to have their parents/Lancer/whoever nagging them about a B. I suspect the adults may be the ones who needs to grow up and not the christina or whoever
![]() Also, tell the poor parents that there is a thing called scholarships and financial aid, and if they still somehow need college money, take everything they have and put them on the streets. They also need a kick in the pants it seems. |

My mum worked on a sliding scale of reaction for my grades:
A+ = pride A = approval A- = less approval B's = raised eyebrow of "you can do better" C's = "What the hell? Work harder" anything below = I'd be safer working with unusually aggressive lions while wearing a suit made from juicy succulent ham than having to tell my mum my grade. All this has made me a neurotic Ph.D. student driven by my own fear of failure and unable to relate to any success outside of a standardises system of marking. |

Whether a college student is a child or not really depends on the age of the eye of the beholder and the degree of the dimentia thereof.
Starchild, school is out, it's over! ![]() Originally posted by Zkribbler ...but what if we want to relax and sponge off her? She needs to have a high-paying job in order to support her lazyazz husband. ![]() ![]() That's why they look for foriegners in the first place, so they don't have to support the family and her hubby's chuba habit. |
