Default Solar Cycle 24 Much Delayed - Are We About To Enter a Dalton Minimum?

I would suspect solar cells would have reduced output as well? Sure we need to get off oil, but there just aren't many alternatives right now.

I thought it was darker out today than yesterday. My friend said it might be the clouds, but I knew better!

It's getting colder every day, too. So much for global warming!

-3c tonight, pretty nippy for November for a maritime climate.

Snow already falling across north-east England and eastern Scotland. Austria could open its skiing early.

An Arctic blast due to bring Scotland down to -7c and England to -5c by the end of the week.

Day After Tomorrow stuff this and it's ace

???

it is meant to be getting colder - ie reduction in spolar output, but it is in principle getting warmer certainly not what big oil wants to hear...

just another factor working in our favour so preventing us to see the full scale of global warming effects...

what OP was indicating, we need to be preparing now for the strengthening of solar output in 20-25 years from now, when we could see some real climate shifts with the record CO2 levels and suns output going back to "normal"...

I am inherently sceptical of any so-called measurements of sunlight taken by British scientists.

The last time any sunlight shone directly through the cloud cover on that benighted isle was 16 Aug, 1986, and it caught them by surprise. Here was the brief write-up in the Times:

British meteorologists are struggling to comprehend the appearance of a large orange-red ball in the sky this morning at approximately 06.35 hrs. The object made its way slowly across the sky from east to west over the course of twelve hours, before disappearing somewhere over the Atlantic at 20.19 hrs. No explanation for this surprising meteorological phenomenon has been offered, although a pagga broke out in Parliament after the Prime Minister called the Whip's wife a poofter.

Great, so now the nutters have an excuse to ignore cutting back on fossil fuels at all, instead of using the time to balance CO2 levels before the sun ramps up again.

Actually don't get your panties in a bunch, the scientific community is still divided as to what the next cycle will be. Those 'environmentalists' hoping for global warming so they can blame somebody may yet not be disappointed.

I blame Spec for not getting his car on the road fast enough and making CO2

Bush doesn't drive a car, a person called a 'driver' does that. The driver person is the one that pushes on the pedal that causes the vehicle to emit greenhouse gasses.

Can you honestly say the same Zkrib?

Bush is as innocent as a warrior that tosses a penguin to a polar bear.
