Default News at 11. Airlines mislead costumers.
Common infringements included:

* prices on the home page that did not include taxes and charges
* "free" flights that were not free
* compulsory purchase of insurance attached to an offer Isin't that common for anything?

Whats so abnormal that a thread or news article has to be made about it? Its called marketing...

I would have thought closing the websites would cause alot more damage to airlines than fines, considering current business models.

If people don't like these practices, they should shop elsewhere.

I can't say for a specific airline, but yes, those sites primarily exist to sell tickets for specific flights from major airlines (and some minor ones...)

Well, Orbitz includes the taxes and tariffs etc in the amount shown for each flight, in addition to showing just how much those taxes and tariffs are, so I can't see a reason for closing Orbitz. Travelocity includes the T&Ts but doesn't show the amount (or atleast, this is what my cursory check has shown). So why should those sites be closed, considering that they are helping the customer find the best product for them?
