Default Rural Indian Aggressors Tamed by TV
One comment: 2 years seems a very short time span for the surveyors to come to such drastic conclusions

I've always thought that TV has huge potential to disrupt traditional societies.

It's quite funny that I think that these shows don't go far enough - I think they're regressive, actually, because they accept the old and wrong moral structure as the standard.

Hence the "if you're a woman in rural India" subtitle to the article. The show is progressive in comparison to the status quo in rural India, but not in urban areas.

That'll happen.

I was giving urban India the benifit of the doubt. I was trying to be nice. How arrogant of me, eh?

I define emancipation as the rejection of all morality, and the subordination of it to your interest of the moment, and finally the claim that your interest of the moment is the definer of morality. That's what it turns into in 90% of cases. The remaining 10% are the ones who build their own morality.

I define emancipation as that awkward silence when you sneeze and no one says "God Bless You" or something to that affect.
