No it isn't, because there isn't any analysis involved. I know that's not what the intention was, so she just didn't predict how it might be interpreted by me. I would like to accept different kinds of stuff, God bless etc. That's cool.
But this is simply overriding my domain, and that domain is very distinctively out of spiritual domain, I do not want to have any claims that have implications that undermine the effort there is. Because that's exactly what it does. Like I said, hoping for strength etc, that's a different thing, that would be just fine. This one? Doesn't fly. |

Patrokolos, yeah, absolutely. ANd it's not that I need to hear that "YEAH YOU ROCK!". I mean I say that to myself all the time
![]() But... just not bring spiritual things into it. That's just giving me some space, I don't come to anyone else and force my stuff either. And I'm a Christian myself, it's not like would hate the thing, it's just that I'd like to think that my own mother doesn't think everyone's destiny as well as mien is because of God, and especially mine, and everythign I do is because of God. That is offensive, simply out of line. Maybe that's the way she rolls, but that's not the way I roll. I mean it's like.. it's a reactive way to think about things. It's well "it's not in our hands anymore". That's cool, maybe people believe in destiny, but it's just so on the other opposite from what I do, so... kindly not try to enforce beliefs that overrides my domain that I so much love and work hard for. |

Sloww, what do you mean out of line? How are they out of line? I said the saying bothers me, not my mother.
If it bothers me, maybe it means something, I don't know. Maybe it's that maybe one thing I don't like about religions is the reactive giving up on things, "letting God handle everything". Why not just work it out ourselves, if we are God's children, you know, I think we can give it a shot. We don't need stand idle and hope for the best, that's BS IMO, in every single case. I never said what I believe in though, anything else that I don't believe in a set destiny that reveals itself through painful losses. Not unless God is a sadist of course. The point is, we should all have professional respect for each other. I don't go to the church and shoot people in the face for believing the earth is 5000 years old because we can prove it isn't, and I hope they don't come and shoot my face because I do evil science. |

I don't think it would matter what your mom had said, it would of still pissed you off. Even if she told you what you wanted to hear; "I'm proud of you, it's nice to see your hard work paying off." Instead she hides your success behind the vail of God, taking the credit away from you.
That's your mom. You shouldn't get angry at Christianity for it, because that is not how it is, or how that saying is suppose to go. God's will is not something that is always given without asking, or without merit, or without cause. From I've heard your mom has a had a hard run at life, and probably has a lot of regrets. It is easier for her to think that life is not what you make it, but what God plans it to be. IMO, that's crap, but perhaps without her being the way she is and where she is you wouldn't be where you are and in the position you are in? |
