i'm curious...What are your spiritual gifts and how did you discover them?
I just know how I feel: I write about God, I feel like telling friends how I'm glad to love God and I feel like I want to inspire people to become one on Christ's... Sometimes I know things without being told...when I hear a mature believer in Christ I say, "Hey, I knew that!" What gift does that sound like? |

Don't worry about what spiritual gifts you might or might not have. God will give you what you need when you need it. Today you may be given one gift and tomorrow another. The only thing you need to worry about "having" is the grace of the Holy Spirit and that we obtain by prayer, loving our neighbor, receiving the sacraments and so on (see St Seraphim's conversation with Motovilov for a fuller explanation).

Kayla, Father Moser has answered you fully. We should never seek any "gifts" at all. They might or might not come by the grace of God.

They are : Love Loy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Long-Suffering Mildness Fidelity Continence Modesty Chastity What are the Theological Virtues? Faith Hope Charity What are the 7 capital virtues ? You don't discover them. Some might occur naturally which you don't really pay attention since you do them like in a normal routine. For example it's pretty normal for you to give alms (charity) but you don't notice it as a gift since it happens so naturally. But when your spiritual father is guiding you, he might say work on your humility and gives you instructions on how to do so. Then eventually over time the gifts that Effie mentioned are part of your life and you do them. When people write about the lives of saints they will say so and so has such gifts but I don't think any saint said oh my gift is that I am so charitable or I am so kind.
