8.000 people is a city imo, anyway, it doesnt matter if it is only a small town.

Not sure if Antwerp would fit in your definition. The port technically isn't in the estuary but it's nearby and it's a large seaport never the less.

The Belgian equivalent of Madrid vs Barcelona would be Brussels vs Antwerp. No prizes for guessing which I prefer.

A city needs a large body of water to feel complete.

We've got a river, all right. A really small one, pretty much exclusively used by pleasure craft these days.

the river doesnt matter, I just mean that a city may not be exactly on the sea, but it if it in a river estuary I count it as coastal city

Double the beaches, double the fun!!! Full of JAFAs though. That's not a race thing, in case anyone's wondering, it's an Aucklander thing. Although a lot of us DO consider Auckland to not REALLY be part of NZ.

I'm not on the coast! It's still so novel to me - I went from an island nation to a landlocked nation.

Auckland, it's on two coasts at the same time!!! That's one of my favorite tactics in Civ. I build a city on an isthmus, and then it'll serve as a canal between the two oceans.
