I just picked up Frontline 2 & 3, and ASM 533. Amazing stuff. I love it.
Maybe I've just not read comics in a while so I've missed a trend, but this story really seems to be taking comics to a higher place. I mean hell, they are quoting Plutarch and some WW1 era poet. This isn't good vs. bad, this is an ambigious conflict between two shades of gray with good arguments all around. It is beautifully written and conceived I just love it. And the paralells to real life... damn, spot on. They are using the term "unregistered combatants" now. And Speedball was totally in Guantanimo. This is very, very well done. |

Somehow I'm not sure if that qualifies as a trial. Osborn runs the Thunderbolts, and I fail to see how he is a "worse" person than Baron Zemo was. Not exactly earth-shattering **** there. Who pisses off Peter more? Osborn or Zemo? ![]() |

I would throw in that there are several legal references to "cutting deals" throughout the series, obviously there is an expectation of a trial at some point. As I said no trial. The deal seems to be essentially do as we say and we'll let you out of the Negative Zone. I've seen not even a passing mention of a trial even in Frontline. It's also curious that this "deal" absolves long litanies of crimes of villains as well (Morbius, Osborn, etc.) so I don't think this deal refers to any preparations for a trial. Re point 2: You still haven't said how he puts the best face on the act. |

612 people? THATS IT?!?! omg, more people died from a hurricane. Should we create a hurricane registration act? Weather: CIVIL WAR!
I find the plot idiotic. other qualms with comics nitro kills captain marvel with CANCER!?!?! WTF! Will Ironman and Spiderman die of AIDS yet? ****ING HOMOS! MUTANT GROWTH HORMONE!?!?! WHAT WILL MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL DO? I MEAN MARVEL! How on god's green earth is the punisher involved with the superhero's realm. The dude is a creep with a van and would presumably rape to get answers. how would he even have children. hes a wall of uncaring death. more importantly this shows you just how many stupid, idiotic, ill conceived characters marvel has. great lakes champions. Ive had abooot enough of this! HOWARD THE DUCK MAKES AN APPEARANCE! WHY! |

I've read most of Frontline so far and seen nothing to support your point. "Wah! Wah! How dare the mean ole government demand that a buncha costumed loonies obey the law! When the law is unjust and born of a kneejerk reaction, why should they obey it? No more than it did with the "Old" Thunderbolts, I suppose. The old T'bolts at least expressed the desire for redemption (minus the Moonstone exception of course ![]() Osborn isn't the face of the Act, Iron Man is. Again, how much trust should a superhero have in the motives of people who make deals with his enemies to enforce the law? Look at the carnage Venom caused when the T'bolts came to recruit him. This reminds me of Operation: Zero Tolerance. Spider-man, of course, is a massive douche for switching sides in a public manner. Flip-flopper! |

When the law is unjust How is it unjust? and born of a kneejerk reaction, Read "The road to Civil War" if you think it came out of nowhere why should they obey it? Because it's the law. God forbid the guys who try to fight lawbreakers obey the law themselves.
