Now that's where I would say you're wrong. I have a death anniversary I like to commemorate close to Valentine's Day, and increasingly, a decent selection of flowers is hard to come by at this time. Especially for roses, which are either sold out completely, or priced at 3-4 times their normal rate. And Valentine's Day is becoming quite dominant in various types of advertising also around this time. I think it's downright stupid that people are buying into these outside trends, instead of sticking to and cultivating our own traditions. Maybe that's just in up in the country where you live down here I haven't seen any sign of it, nor have I heard anybody mention it Before I saw this thread I didn't even know what time of the year it was I can't comment on the advertising part though, as I haven't seen any advertising for a very long time |
