I must say your family looks very Norweigen.

Those are nice pictures of Kirkenes. Now what I want are pictures of those giant king crabs, especially ones which have been boiled and then slathered in butter.

Well, it's been a long time... I've seen the Marjata here 2 more times since late August - and a lot of Russian trawlers. Went and got some crab last week - yummy! Didn't buy it from the Russians though - a Norwegian boat took us out on a "crab safari" thing. Winter's here now. We had a snow storm last night that left us with a couple of inches of the white stuff. Supposedly it doesn't get all that high on the flat ground here because the wind keeps blowing it away. We still have daylight from around 7 in the morning to about 4:30 pm / 16:30. In another month or so we'll be completely out of sun for the rest of the year. I'll post some pictures again in a few more days. Now I'd better get some sleep - it's been a long day.

It rained here last weekend. That's about as close as we get to snow. :P

Guardian. Are you seeing some sickly cool northern lights?
Well, it's been a while since I've had the chance to look for them, but I did see some a couple of weeks ago. Lots of green and some purple, flickering across the sky. Pretty awesome!

I also saw the sun set most of the sky ablaze for the better part of an hour before coming up last Monday morning on a beautiful, clear winter morning. Likewise as it went down that afternoon. We didn't see stuff like that down south all that often. Some of it, sure, but not like this.

Oh, and about snow, we're up to 4 inches now. But it's still daylight outside. -For another hour or so...

Maybe it is, I'll have to check. Negative 20 Celcius today, so that's about negative 4 in Fahrenheits. It's cold...

It's half an hour after midnight and I just got done at work. Been at it since about 8 in the morning, so it's time to get off the computer for a while.

I'll try to get those pics out tomorrow.

Hehe.

Sorry, no polar bears around here (they haven't been on the Norwegian mainland for decades, actually), but I did finally manage to get some pictures out.

I got pretty annoyed with the stupid new version of the site though. I might not use it next time if they keep that stuff without some major fixing...

Heat wave here at the moment: We're close to 0 degrees C / 32 degrees F for the first time since mid-October.

Oh, and we're down to 4 hours of daylight. Starting next week, the sun will be gone completely for a couple of months.

Otherwise, life is good.
