AH:
I'm afraid you misunderstand. If you already have Civ and want to upgrade, use this instead of the patch that you are trying to install. First download the patch you want (If you have ToT you should not have to download the first two parts of the MGE patch). Then unzip (using an unzipping utility such as WinZip) the files to the directory in which your version of Civ II resides (by default usually C:\MPS\Civ2). The next time you start a game you should see the difference. All files go directly into the Civ2 folder and if prompted to overwrite existing files yes to all. Click on the link to download: Civ2 MGE 1 (3.87 MB) Civ2 MGE 2 (1.66 MB) Civ2 MGE 3 (1.41 MB) Civ2 MGE 4 (3.21 MB) Civ2 MGE 5 (2.47 MB) All these files are ZIPs so it should work for you. |

As far as civ 2 goes I think I used to copy contents of MGE folders into civ2 folder, allowing overwrite of files as necessary, not using any installation program, just doing it manually. Have not played civ2 once since civ4 came along though, civ2 no longer holds any interest for me and that perversion that some called civ3 holds less interest than that. So your belief is that his pc is too antiquated to play Civ 2, which he's played for years, and to play Civ 4 instead? And I thought I was an idiot. And Oerdin, wrong again. |
