I cannot wait for a Wii.

I'm preordering this thing as soon as I can.

$250 is more than I was hoping but it's still cheaper than the other two consoles and I'm more impressed with the announced games for the Wii.

I'm confused why so many people can look forward to the Wii games.

The 1st-party Nintendo games for the Gamecube sucked ass. Super Mario Sunshine really sucked, no matter how many deluded Nintendo fans say it doesn't.

This is a company that thought "Wii" was a really good name -- and you guys trust them to be so in touch so as to develop a game that is fun?

Nintendo of today is nothing like the Nintendo of the late 80s and 1990s.

Sunshine was Mario 64 with updated graphics. It therefore cannot possibly suck.

Oh, and a QFT @ LordShiva.

Yeah, I can see no reason what so ever for people to look foward to Wii games.

Yeah, I can see no reason what so ever for people to look foward to Wii games. Me neither. Of those you listed, Super Smash Brothers is the only game likely to be passably entertaining -- but even then, only as a party game.

The Metroid Prime games were hugely overrated. The only reason they're so well-received is they're shining gems of excellence compared to 99% of the crap on the Gamecube.

250 $/€/£ too much!?

Now come on people how cheap are you? It's not even the price of a decent bottle of Cognac. To put it in perspective...it costs less than two nights out.

I paid more for my 256 mB SD card back in 2002...

Xbox Live Arcade is revolutionizing the production of gaming and distribution of games, opening it up to everyone.

What did Nintendo do recently? They gave Mario a water pack. They removed lots of buttons on the controller frustrating lots of gamers. They intentionally crippled storage capacity to prevent piracy.

So they introduce a gimmicky controller not meant for most games, make it the standard controller, castrate the specs of the console and price it higher than the Gamecube launched and call it innovation.

The Wiimote is somewhat unique, but in the end it's just a method of control. An interface to the game, not the game itself. I'm getting pretty sick of hearing how Nintendo is championing innovation, when they're not. They're the people who keep rehashing THEIR own games for decades on end.

Here's a newsflash -- their latest games sucked. Metroid Prime was heavy on the backtracking with lame, no-skill controlled. It's essentially a crippled RPG-FPS marketed as an adventure game to make up for the shortcomings of the Gamecube controller. Mario Sunshine sucked ass. Its "innovative" gameplay was just as stale as the graphics and level design were. Zelda: Wind Waker was simply dreadfully boring with lame "innovative" graphics.

There's a huge reason they're losing marketshare, but their hardcore anything-Nintendo-shits-is-gold niche market don't seem to care.

Well, whatever you say marketing genious... Nintendo had a larger price advantage last time and it earned them third place. Now their console will look even more outdated than their competitors, and at a higher price...

I mean whoever has the newest dynamic shadows and HDR blah blah is very very much besides the point which is to have cool, entertaining and fresh games.

This is what Nintendo seems to be pursuing off instead of the gameplay wisely cheap additional chrome and glitter thats obviously priority in X0 and PS3.

To me X0 is more "outdated" than GC when it comes to really entertaining and innovative games.

Halo and MGS oh please...theres liek a hundred better such PC titles out there. Super Mario Bros Melee is the bomb, its fun, easy, quick etc...thats the kind of games i'm looking forwards to.

Resident Evil 4 was an incredible game. I know it came out for the PS2, but it was out for the GameCube for like a year first.
