I've watched eight and a half seasons of Stargate (plus one and a half of Atlantis) before even seeing BSG. Liked Stargate, not the best thing ever, but seemed all decent. 10 episodes of Galactica later, I became almost bored with Stargate. Still watch new eps, but now with such great excitement.

Then again, I think that in the season 9 two-parter, Stargate made a real decision not to go the route of thought-provoking, deep sci-fi. Which is a real shame.
