For better or worse, the Bonus Army is mentioned in Highschool (my history teacher sucked (nice enough guy though) and it was mentioned.. like most history that I didn't study for myself, it didn't really stick out though).

About southern policemen's mothers Supposedly, the police opened fire on a dorm because the students were yelling down insults about their mothers.

And a couple of days later, some students were bayonetted at New Mexico State.

That was a bad time in the U.S.
