Default On Fr Dcn Matthew's new appointment
Father David mentioned in a thread the other day that Fr. Dcn. Matthew has had some kind of change in his employment that is keeping him very busy these days.
I missed this. Is it something that needs prayer? (Obviously everything does, but does this need more than usual?)

I would have mentioned this earlier, but I thought it wouldbe more appropriate for Fr Matthew himself to relate. However, since it has now been announced on the diocesan website:

• Archbishop Kyrill has received Deacon Dr. Matthew Steenberg into the ranks of clergy of the Western American Diocese from the Diocese of Sourozh. Father Matthew is assigned to the St. Tikohon's Church in San Francisco and as the new principal of St. John of San Francisco Orthodox Academy in San Francisco. Fr David Moser

May God's abundant blessings be with Father Deacon Matthew on this new and exciting endeavor.
Amen.

Oh my. He's to become an American again. What a cross to bear! Let us pray to the Lord for him.

Had you fooled, didn't he? He's been there long enough you'd think he was a native, but he was actually born in the States. Montana, I think.

Wow, this means I might actually get to meet him! San Fran is a far drive but it's better than trying to cross the pond.
