Default Hell Yeah!!!!!
I just got a 12.5K inheritance from my late grandmother's estate today.

10K of it is 'earmarked' for renovations to my country house (getting the power & water on).

2.5K is for 'whatever'....so the first thing I did was bought a new PC (A Nintendo 3DS & some Yugioh cards will follow very shortly).

I just spent $600 on a laptop (Acer) with 2.8GHZ processor speed and 4Gig of DDR3 RAM. It has a 15.5 inch screen and is running Windows 7.

I just got home from running about all day to get the money, having lunch with my brother and cousin etc and buying the PC so I am really stuffed, but I will contact my ISP tomorrow to hook up the modem and all that and get it online.

Once it's all hooked up and running, I will be downloading YVD (this PC won't run it because it only has 192MB RAM, no 'Virtual Memory' and no Video Card Drivers) and I will get all my friends to teach me how to play YGO again. I can also afford to attend tourneys now!

Tonight is the last night for this useless piece of s***!!!

This is good....this is very good.

This sounds fantastic, except that your grandmother died.

I didn't know whether congratulating you is insensitive, given your grandmother died.

Congrats / condolences? Not really sure whether an inheritance is something to be happy over.

My grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago now and her will has been held up in court being contested over like a dozen times before a ruling was handed down by a magistrate that 'enough is enough already'....there have been appeals...counter appeals...you name it.

My grandmother and I were not really all that close...she was in her 90's when she passed and for the last 20 years of her life, didn't even recognise me.
I wasn't really sad when she died...she had a good 'innings' and did what she wanted to do with her life.

It's not really all that 'insensitive'....I mean, I could always donate the money to charity because somebody had to die for me to get it...would you though?

Yo I'm not sure where you are at but have you checked on the Inheritance Tax? I am on Social Security and I don't pay taxes because I am below the tax threshold.

You gotta think long term with the money. Sort things out with your living situation, transportation. Get something nice for yourself (thing, not really things) and shove the rest into savings.

Or take a page from Charlie Sheen's book and have a great weekend in vegas.
