Default Artist Block >:[
I hope you guys don't mind me reading this for a minute ^^;

Anyway,
Recently I've been facing an artist block.
I haven't been able to design anything correctly, and I feel like my skill fluctuates from excellent, decent, acceptable, and why are you posting this on DeviantART again?

Now recently, I can't design anything at all.
I open Photoshop Elements, get my signature preference, get my render, and my C4Ds and then I realize I can't make signatures the way I used to anymore.

I just don't get it. I tried watching a couple episodes of my favorite anime, listen to my favorite artist, read some mystery novels, but I just can't get inspired at all.

Any idea how to destroy this little block that is obscuring my creativity?

I think most, if not all artists feel like this every now and then.
Some dont even like their own work :s

You just need to be inspired. Find something that'll spark your imagination.
TRY RELAXING. AND NOT THINKING ABOUT IT
helps me :}

Maybe you just need to look for new ideas.

In other words, start taking a look on tutorials more often?

I guess looking at a few won't hurt.

I trained for Martial Arts , i got stronger .

Then a guy,weaker than me and stupid beat me up .

I was/am verry sad and i think i don't have the right to train for Martial Arts now ,beacause i am a shame to Martial Arts .

But i will train harder and longer and crush all my fears .

Conclusion : You need motivation to do that ,so do i ...and allot
Hope this helps

I only do a new sig when I have an idea. There isn't any right or wrong in design, so there's no need to force yourself into accepting something like "I gotta design something now."

So take a break, forget about it, do other stuff and come back when an idea actually hits you.

"writers block" stems from overworking and overthinking. And most importantly, it stems from your own self-confidence.

Stop working for a while, until you feel the urge that you absolutely have to to start creating again. Things will flow naturally.

Oh right.
So when I get an idea, get on a computer ASAP huh?

Yeah I have some MAJOR projects due this grading period so...
Yeah, I'm still working on liking my designs as a whole ^^;

Right right.
I'll see what happens when I'm done with this grading period.
I hope that this artist block will blow over by then @_@

I agree, get laid

Same thing happens to me in call of duty. I will own with 2.0 KDR and than just hit a barrier where I can't play anymore. No matter what I try different I just can't get into the game. Like other said, do something else and do something else for a longtime. I usually just stop playing any FPS' and play racing/fighting games. When I come back a week or two later I dominate again.

If you're making a career outta it, then I guess so. But I'm assuming you're doing it for fun, so just take it easy.
