Even as a

\"progressive\" Republican, I agree with a lot of this article. The middle class has to be willed into existance

and nurtured. Otherwise, plutocracy will exploit it into poverty.

Yet, there are problems on the other side too.

Too much government ends up serving government and not the citizens. A government can not lock economic

relationships into place, freezing the inevitable adjustments that have to be made. Likewise, every good government

will want to advance its citizens, even at the expense of another government\'s citizens.

As always, wisdom

lies in the balance, not the extremes. Conservative economics have held the ground for some time now and its hubris

is showing.
