So it actually happens that I'll be in New York (for the first time I met add) in December but not early enough! We're not coming down till the 29th.. for of course the New Years celebrations. We're thinkin of doing the Times Square thing for the night of New Years and also taking a helicopter tour.. Any more suggestions of what should not be missed?

Sad I'll be missing the get together though as I'd really like to meet some more DR1ers!

Ok guys, please lets decide early and stick to one place and one date instead of making 569 posts and still undecided. Just take the time out, drive to the freakin place and learn to have fun. Life is not about working and worrying about traffic jams and worrying about little things. Its really all that easy to enjoy a good evening without having to worry about everything else.

My bitter post was in response to bugsey's reply.
"callate de una vez" is almost the same as "shut the F up". This is not very nice to say to someone and then she goes on to unwelcome me to the gathering. As far as I remember, she plays no part in any gathering. It has always been larry or lina or someone else who organizes the gathering, but never her. Now she is changing the location to make it more complicated for the rest. I see that more than 2 folks have mentioned rancho jublee but it seems its not suitable to Ms. Rubia's taste. I have to make a decision now to see if I can change my plans to fit in NYC but I see that its never easy with NYC crowd. you folks can't help but bicker over dates, time, location etc etc etc. No wonder you folks live in NYC, you will never make it here in DR.

After 21 posts, not a single has commited to any date or place. Seems like 4th is not a good date for many, or maybe we need another 500 posts to pin point a location for 5 regular DR1 folks in NYC.
let me say this for sure: i am out of the deal. I would rather spend comfortable days with my mom in atlanta than to bicker for 500 posts over date, time, location etc etc etc. You NYC folks are so complicated.

Yeah, but the point is, the NYers are not you! They have their own way of putting the event together, and as messy as it looks from the outside looking in, the end-result is always a good party. May not be a huge gathering as you seem to prefer, but they enjoy each others' company and have a good time. That's why they meet so frequently. I have experienced this comraderie twice myself by crashing their gathering. You have zero (zilch, nil) experience with the NYC gatherings, so know not of which you snipe. Both events I went to had at least a dozen people, not 6. If this type of gathering is not to your liking, simply don't go. They'll survive. They'll have a good time whether you go or not. Of that I am certain!
