I was wondering if there is a road that maybe passable with jeep, from Samana to Punta Cana. Some maps seem to have dirt roads, others don't show any at all.

I live in Puerto Plata and have a jeep, I am curious if its at all possible to go this route instead of going through Santo Domingo.

There are probably some "passable" roads but it would be an adventure.
You have to go around the Parque nacional de los Haitises, no matter what.

Get a good map. At Cruce de Limon, between Nagua and Sanchez, you turn to the right and work your way to Rincon Molinillos. then to El Jobo, Los Coles, El Alto de Copa, Los Mapolos, then Sabana Grande de Boyá and work your way to the East...
