If you have been keeping up with the Sinecure thread then you know I sent a snail mail to Sinecure. Today I received this in email from his wife. I have written back and asked if maybe he had an online guest book or did she mind if I gave ya'll her email to send her condolances. Waiting for her to answer. This is the email:

Knowing Doug as we did, I was sure he didn't "just go away". I had tentatively scheduled a meeting with Doug in Napa CA this fall but then he stopped all communications. I feared the worst after that.

I am proud to have known him if only via the internet. He was a real trooper and overcame many extreme obstacles that would have left me whimpering in the fetal position.

You are in a better place now... God Bless you Doug Duree...

I'm very saddened. Even though we had spirited disagreements he treated me like a friend, sending me funny/interesting emails, as well as updates on his condition. I always had the sense that he would be a great guy to know in person, and I'm sure I would have liked him a lot if I had. His warmth and humanity was palpable, even though it was "only pixels on the screen".

I'll miss you Sin.

I have emailed some links of his to his wife and later this one to let her know why we will miss him.

Funny how you can get attached to someone online although you have never met them. This is 3 of my online friends that have passed away.

too sad too post.. i will miss Sin tremendously.. he was one of my staunchest supporters on here, always ready with a smile and a pat on the back when i'd kick someone else's hiney.. now December is really a sad month for me.. my Mom died on the 27th and now Sin on the 28th. cryyyyyyy
