Default Colorado cake shop refuses to bake a gay couple's wedding cake, sparks outrage
Anti-gay businesses across the country seem empowered in the wake of Chick-fil-A's dastardly statements that they openly and proudly support anti-gay causes financially. Enter "Masterpiece Cake Shop" located in the quiet hamlet of Lakewood, Colorado. The owner, Jack Phillips, proudly proclaims that he did indeed deny a gay couple service and says he would rather close his store than bake a cake for a gay wedding.

Thousands of people across the nation are now calling for a boycott.

The open discrimination came when Charlie Craig and Dave Mullin say they went into the dubious establishment to order a cake for their wedding. The happy couple says they dated for over two years before they decided to celebrate their love with an official ceremony.

It has been locally reported by CBS Denver that Charlie Craig said, "My first comment was, ‘We’re getting married,’ and he (Phillips) just shut that down immediately.”

The accused bigot and discriminator, owner Jack Phillips, said in his defense, "If gays come in and want to order birthday cakes or any cakes for any occasion, graduations, or whatever, I have no prejudice against that whatsoever. It’s just the wedding cake, not the people, not their lifestyle. We would close down that bakery before we closed our beliefs, so that may be what it comes to … we’ll see."

A massive protest is planned for August 4th in front of what may possibly be the most famous cake shop on the planet, at least for now.

Only time will tell if the owner will bow to the will of civility, rationality, equality.

This is Phillips first time nationally weighing into such a hotly charged subject, and the odds are favorable to him being wholly unprepared for the backlash he and his business will be subjected to as news of this story spreads.

It's his business, yes? He has the RIGHT to serve or turn away whoever he wants.

Oh... and TO HELL with examiner.com for that shamefully biased and inflammatory article!

'Freedom' means the mob running over the individual.

I mean, we cant have 'Whites Only' signs hanging up in a private business. We cant have 'No Jews allowed' signs posted outside private business. I thought we cleared this up in the 60's? Oh, we cant have 'No Gays' signs in the window of a private business. ...........PUKE.

But you can have 'No Whites', 'Jews Only' or 'Gays Inside' anywhere you like in America. Because in America we are all about FORCED multiculturalism, multisexualism, anti-family, anti-religion and PRO STATE.

I voluntarily chose to not go inside about 90% of places because they choose to disarm me on the way in. I guess i should go to the Government and make the private business let me inside with my firearm? THAT would be freedom. (Not so much for the store owner though)

This entire 'Gay' fiasco is a staged event in itself. I have never seen so much push for same sex relations. I mean it is like cartoonish level at this point. Its turning it into a much larger issue than it really is. Im ready to order a wedding cake from this place shipped to me, and a weeks supply of Chic-Fil-A to help fund the opposition to this metrosexual takeover..... LOL
