I explored Guadalajara MX for a couple months in '04 based mostly on his advice. I didn't meet him, corresponded a bit via email, he gave me his # but I didn't call him. I believe he was a resident of Lake Chapala just outside the city.

This is very sad news. I am nearly at tears, yet I never knew the man personally. He saw the whole picture, yet he never seemed discouraged and always stayed so positive and upbeat, I can learn a lot from that alone. A few years ago Chris (GSR) sort of interviewed Bob about his life, it was very fascinating and I'm hoping he replays the interview this weekend, the guy had an interesting life for sure. He was a good man, I am really going to miss him every week....big time. Rest In Peace Mr. Chapman. |

In Memory of Robert Chapman, The International Forecaster
-- Posted Wednesday, 6 June 2012 | Share this article | Source: GoldSeek.com From our radio producer, Chis Waltzek: The precious metals community is sans a heroic figure. Robert ‘Bob’ Chapman was a champion of individual freedom, particularly via the accumulation of gold and silver bullion. In our public weekly discussions on Goldseek.com Radio over the past 6+ plus years, Bob Chapman displayed an immense knowledge level on the widest array of subjects, while always maintaining a humble ego. In private conversations he hinted at a very unfortunate childhood. Nevertheless, instead of wallowing in self-pity or yielding to depression, Bob Chapman converted those negative experiences into the liveliness required to reach out to anyone who might listen to and embrace his message. Bob Chapman never forgot his humble roots and always remembered those in need - spending countless sums on troubled families, even while his tragic illness consumed him. Bob Chapman was a wonderful mentor to many and I count myself among his fortunate protégés. Although it is regrettable that he will not be among his earthbound friends to witness the amazing precious metals advance to come, I suspect that Bob Chapman will be cheering as gold climbs above $2,000 on its way to $5,000 an ounce and silver as it soars beyond $50 en route to $100 per ounce. I believe that Bob would appreciate all efforts to console and support his wife and daughter, Judy and Jennifer. From Peter Spina, Founder GoldSeek.com: Bob Chapman was one of GoldSeek.com’s first contributing authors going back to the late 1990’s. We were privileged to have Bob as a weekly guest on GoldSeek.com along with his many article contributions. Bob devoted his life to spreading a wealth of information on a wide array of subjects. It is with sadness that Bob will not be here to watch with many of us the coming monetary and financial crisis, which Bob devoted so much of his energy to speaking about. It was his mission to help, educate others with all his wealth of insights and perspectives. Bob picked out trends very early and he was one of a handful to inform us about the upcoming gold and silver bull markets well over a decade ago. But for Bob, it was not about being right about the precious metals markets. It was about telling others that it is up to you to take the steps necessary to protect yourself. Bob’s relentless efforts spread to tens of thousands of people on a weekly basis, just on GoldSeek.com. Those numbers are multiplied many times over accounting for the thirteen some years of his contributions. Bob was very active spending his time on many radio shows, writing, taking the time to respond individually to those who were looking for help. It was incredible to know of Bob’s age and see all his efforts. Bob was and remains a powerful force in the precious metals community. Bob’s daughter informs us that Bob wants the I.F. to continue and is working on a re-launch when possible. We look forward to informing you of this when that time comes. So we bid Bob a farewell. It saddens me to know he will not be around to see gold, silver bull markets go to the next levels with many of us, but it is wonderful to see all the tens of thousands who benefited from his work. Bob’s contributions will live on for a very long time to still come, Peter Spina http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1338999861.php |

Lucky,
if memory serves, the offspring of Chapman have consolidated their grasp and grab of legacy assets including copyrights that passed through to them, as I recall them saying as much publicly. It is a deliberate assessment and re-acquisition, and in keeping with their statements of continuity as best they can in light of their Dad's passing. Perhaps you could locate their "updated site" and find that which is missing from YouTube, or some excellent surfer such as Osoab, MNeagle, Gunny, madfranks, or PatColo could point you in the right direction. beefsteak |

Bob did his last interview with James Corbett. Stadtmiller played it on his show with Corbett co-hosting that day.
I think this was his last interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFx0kHjYc3U |
