I don't think I can watch this, I saw it mentioned several times today on various news sources... I just always try to remember the police are our friends...
Thomas suffered brain injuries, facial fractures, rib fractures, and extensive bruising and abrasions, according to prosecutors. He was taken off life support and died several days after the July 5th incident. The Orange County coroner listed his manner of death as a homicide and said he died after having his chest compressed, leaving him unable to breathe. ![]() |

Yeah it's pretty rough to watch. I skipped a bunch.
It begins when the first cop threatens to punch him in the face for not sitting down properly ?!?!, which goes on seemingly forever. So ridiculous. As soon as Kelly stood up over this endless "sit like this or else" bullshit, his friend comes out of left field and starts wailing on him with a baton. Looked like about a liter of blood spilled on the pavement after they carry him off. |

buncha news clips here, http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...family+council the family & community protests at city council were dramatic, I watched one or two at the time, not gonna find it now but I recall in one, police chief was there and someone who spoke (father?) threatened if he doesn't resign they're going to carry him out horizontal like. |

Kelly Thomas beating: Judge may rule on Fullerton officers' trial
... Thomas, who suffered shattered bones in his face, broken ribs and bruises over much of his body, was taken off life support by his family and died five days after his encounter with police. Officer Manuel Ramos, 38, is charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Cpl. Jay Cicinelli, 40, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and using excessive force. Ramos faces a possible life prison term, Cicinelli four years in prison. Both have pleaded not guilty... ...During the scrum, Cicinelli can be seen on the video striking Thomas several times in the face with the butt of a Taser stun gun as officers pin him on the ground. "I just smashed his face to hell," he can be heard telling a fellow officer... |

The guy seemed like a harmless drifter. He made the mistake of consenting to them searching his backpack. He would have been better off not to speak at all. But they goaded him into talking.... and he clearly was not a real bright guy.
These cops need to spend some time in general population in prison. If they survive, let them become targets on the street. |

How can one of them be charged with murder and the second one charged with involuntary manslaughter? I hope they both go to prison and get raped everyday for the rest of their lives. |

Involuntary manslaughter, I think caps out at 4 years (in Kali), the cop that shot in the back and killed that unarmed, hands behind the back hand-cuffed guy at the SF BART station was convicted of IMS and served only 9 months in COUNTY JAIL, NOT PRISON.....so even if these cops are convicted, their chances are great they won't do much time and WON'T do ANY Hard Time

Yeah, hopefully they will get beaten and raped constantly in prison, then their souls will eventually pass to extra-dimensional Hell. I've seen this vid multiple times and it never fails to boil my blood on several fronts. It's not only the brutal and tyrannical abuse of power displayed upon someone who neither deserved it, nor could defend himself. It is also the fact that people, alot of them, will see this and say that he deserved it. That he was out of line not following commands, and he did something to be locked anyway so he's scum.
People feel superior, but when anything similar happens to them (abuse of power) etc. they cry victim. and cry and cry. It's all good as long as it is not happening to them. And to add, willie is correct they will not go to prison but rather jail, county probably. Where they will be fine, this also adds another few degrees Fahrenheit. |
