I wonder how much electricity is used to heat the plastic for the conversion, and if it would be possible to use solar power to fuel the system.

Use a solar concentrator. Sounds very possible.

I don't know,... but it's possible the site being virusy could be that the company is bullshit or it might mean they're under attack themselves.

That machine is small enough to install right in the cars engine compartment, so if you run out of gas you could scrounge along the roadside
collecting plastic Coke bottles and grocery bags to fill er up. Lol...

Hey, I just thought of something. Could you use insulated copper wire for this? That would be kind of awesome because you'd get oil + copper out of it.

I never understood why we use petrol based plastics at all. I think all 1-use items should be made out of biodegradable, infinitely renewable, hemp plastics. Petrol based plastics should be saved for things like medical tools and space shuttles.

two reasons,
1. oil based products mean more money for the goons
2. burning oil toxins in the home helps "soft kill"

Kerosene lamps replaced Olive oil lamps
Paraffin wax candles replaced beeswax candles

more sick persons...more profit for pharmaceuticals

The technology in the OP is absolutely amazing. It creates an economic incentive to voluntarily pick up garbage and recycle it into a product that is worth quite a bit.
