Default Breaking: Gingrich, Santorum, Perry, Huntsman WILL NOT be on Virginia Ballot
RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Federal District Court Judge John Gibney ruled against Texas Governor Rick Perry and other Republican presidential candidates who sued in an effort to appear on the ballot for the Virginia Republican primary in March.

Judge Gibney announced the ruling Friday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia.CLICK HERE: Read the judge's order
The suit was originally filed by Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Hunstman later joined the challenge.

According to court documents, the Republican candidates failed to meet the 10,000 signature petition requirements to get on the ballot.

Mitt Romney and Ron Paul met the requirements.

Monday, Judge Gibney ordered the distribution of absentee ballots for Virginia's Republican primary to be halted until the legal challenge could be settled.

This is a developing story.

If Ron Paul can win strong in Virginia, what a boost to his campaign it would be!

This is providence, this is the election right here because if Ron can beat mitty so can obama, thus RP is the one that should be the one nominated. Talk about served up on a silver platter. Christmas in March! We just have to keep building momentum and growing our base. It's gonna be party night on 3/6.

I thought that the state of Virginia was going to change the laws and let them on.
I think that is still in play.
Someone posted that info here recently.
That will be more important than this ruling.

They'll whine until they get on the ballot. They may even get the Supremes or CONgress involved. Would be sweet though.

The rules only apply to Ron Paul, and anyone with less than 1% of the vote.

Perry is appealing this ruling.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry is appealing a federal judge's refusal to add him and three other candidates to Virginia's Republican presidential primary ballot. In a filing on Sunday with the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Perry's attorneys requested that the court order his name be placed on the ballot, or order that ballots not be printed or mailed before the court considers the appeal. http://news.yahoo.com/perry-appeals-...232523098.html
