The 1/2 ton 454ci came with the 60; the 3/4 ton came with the 80, if I'm remembering correctly. Mine was a 3/4 ton 4X4 with the 80(after looking at the original sticker). What a fucking piece of shit. The first thing to go out on it was the heater core within 72 hours of taking delivery. I had a pool of lime green fluid on the floorboards, mixed with new car smell.

1993 is OBDI. I do not see how the computer can see the tranny. The only plugs that go the tranny are reverse lights, the neutral safety switch, and maybe the converter lockup. (If its electrical)

At least this is how the Ford stuff was back then.

Hope this helps,

I'm not up to date on the computer controls in modern cars, but I do know that this one is the electric controlled tranny. It shifts via solenoid, not vacuum. That's got to mean the computer is controlling it, right?

Yes, probably. Do the wires go to the side of the tranny, by the actual lever coming out of it? If there is an electronic solenoid on the side of the tranny next to the shift lever, it is likely electronically controlled.
