“I love Ron Paul,” (Kelly) Clarkson wrote on Thursday. “I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.”

Of course the subliminal here is all that matters, not that Clarkson 'likes' Ron Paul. A damnable 'endorsement'.
Leftist WaPost article again asserts Ron Paul "will never be nominated". http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...FNP_print.html |

Clarkson is an intellectual giant, check out how she trims her sheets to however the wind blows - she obviously also supports moral relativism (if it feels good, do it):
The “Miss Independent” singer’s support for Paul immediately angered many of her Twitter followers, however, leading her to insist that she did not believe in some controversial opinions attributed to Paul. “I have never heard that he’s a racist? I definitely don’t agree with racism, that’s ignorant,” Clarkson wrote to one fan. She also clarified that she supports gay rights. “I love all people and could care less if you like men or women,” tweeted Clarkson, adding, “I have never seen or heard Ron Paul say anything against gay people?” In a longer message, Clarkson set the record straight about her politics. “I am really sorry if I have offended anyone,” she wrote. “Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all the Republican nominees, he’s my favorite.” |

It's a presidential election, not a fuckin' horse race. Explains why the media is constantly harping about the "standings". |

Exactly. I try to tell people this, but who, in a world of lottery and office football pools, gives a flying fuck? Nobody wants to be known as the guy who picked the candidate (team, AI contestant, etc) who didn't win. http://decoded.nationaljournal.com/2...ing-romney.php As for the 'I want the winning horse' meme, there's the phenomenon I've noted where people not only 'want to be betting on the winning horse', they also want to be 'near' 'the winning horse', i.e. see him up close, perhaps shake his hand, and be able to say later, "I got to see him upclose on the campaign trail!" I find it very strange how the rubes (and I used to be one 'cause I was drawn to a Carter appearance in Ft. Worth in '76 for that specific reason) are drawn to "some of the most important people on the planet" (as a woman friend said to me describing some of her friends hobnobbing with the likes of GHWB, McCain, Palin, etc. - it made me want to puke). Anyway, I'm seeing this phenomenon happen with Mittens the Mormon Illuminaughty, people wanting to be 'near' him 'cause he's the 'winning horse'. |

I dunno; I think you're selling her too short. What about this do you find offensive:
“I am really sorry if I have offended anyone,” she wrote. “Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all the Republican nominees, he’s my favorite.” This to me is quite a libertarian stance. She's in the spotlight, so she has to be concerned about everybody examining her every word, much like what is happening in this thread. She likes wrong Paul. Someone said Ron Paul is racist. She said she's not racist. She points to gay rights as an example. Realizing she might get taken out of context, she points out that she's for gay rights in the same way that she's for everyone's rights. She sums up that she likes Ron Paul because he's for less government and personal freedom. What the heck is wrong with any of that? I'd say she's waaaay ahead of the game. |

And as for the "winning horse" thing, maybe she's registered democrat and can't vote for him in the primary, and can only vote for him if he wins the Republican nomination. |

Oh its real news now, its a Reuters story.
![]() And it has more propaganda bias than a Reuters story should. Making an association with Gary Busey for example. I think "Breakaway" could make a great campaign song for Ron Paul! She was the best that ever came out of American Idol IMO. No matter the position of fame or celebrity, it seems the same crap fills the air.... The pop star continued her defense, saying: "Man my eyes have been opened to so much hate tonight. If y'all ever disagree with something I say please don't feel the need to attack me. I will listen to what you say and any articles or viewpoints you have when you say it with respect. Being hateful is not a healthy way to get people to see or hear you. I was raised to respect people and their decisions and beliefs and I hope you will grant me the same decency. If you don't agree with me simply unfollow me. It's really that easy. I hope you don't because I would love the chance to hear what you have to say but if you're so blinded by hate you can't seek peace and progress then that is your unfortunate prerogative." |

Good on Matt for speaking out!
This article is in the news today: Elle Magazine: Matt Damon: Hollywood’s Sexiest Mr. Nice Guy All-American A-lister Matt Damon on politics, fatherhood, and why he’s no Clooney Is it mere coincidence that today, just down the Vancouver street from where Damon sits, the first day of Occupy Wall Street–offshoot wildfire has flared up over the border? “I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician,’ ” Damon says, his disappointment ringing with a now-familiar tone of wounded idealism. “You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better.” Damon gestures in the direction, just out of sight over the tree line, of the sign-wielding picketers who are beginning to gather steam. “If the Democrats think that they didn’t have a mandate—people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they are so pissed off,” he says. “Imagine if they had a leader.” [Edited to the original article] |
