I think it's more due to the slowdown of the Thermohaline current current (documented).

Yeah it seems that the BP spill in the gulf has helped along the slowing down of the gulf stream that brings warm water from the Caribbean the the British isles. This same warm water was responsible for the famous London fogs. Without the warm waters the UK will be climatically much different. The British Isles lie on the same latitude as Labrador on the East Coast of Canada, and are protected from a similarly icy climate by the gulf steam, which carries a million billion watts of heat.

I remember being in grade 4, about 30 years ago, and they were telling us we were going to get hit with another Ice age, imminently.

Hasn't happened yet.

I remember it too Awoke. About 1979 or there abouts. I use that date because we had a big 150th birthday for the state I live in and I recall it was around that time. I remember it very well. Big multi page spreads, TV documentaries.... although I now realise they were TV Speculationaries..... hehe.

It gets chilly from time to time but there are no brass monkeys around here. Oh actually there's a Pub called the Brass Monkey but thats about it.
