An armed man gets shot after refusing to put down his gun. The man says he won't put down his gun until they put the dog away! Now watch this clip and give me your opinion. Are the cops right in threatening him with the dog or should they have listened and put their dog AWAY? I don't see why they didn't put the dog away and i can't imagine what idiot let the dog go! But either way a man gets shot but he did have a gun, and a trained police dog gets murdered also. Sad news indeed...

What ignorance. Shot their own dog. I love to see when cops get captured on video. They took their sweet time going in and then they grabbed the dog and let the man bleed to death. Doesn't say if the dog died. I understand that a police dog is a police officer and they always get priority attention, but the cops started shooting before the dog was released which looks like they murdered the man and what dummy released the dog?

It's stupid because while he IS a criminal or whatever, he didn't have to let go of the dog for one thing, and another thing they airlifted the dog to the hospital (vet or whatever) before they even worry about the guy that they just killed!? He was a criminal and all sure i understand that but why put the life of a dog before that of a human...idiots.

Ok - Which ever one that shot the dog should be relegated to a desk job. She is in the wrong position on the force. (ducks and hides)

However - It takes only 0.5 seconds to aim and fire at the cops.

It takes well over 1 second to respond.

Two warnings to drop the gun is enough. The dirt-bag got what he deserved.

I can see why they ended up shooting him to a point but he yells that he will put the gun down if they putthe dog away, so they could have saved his life by putting the dog away. nobody knows if he was a first time criminal or not, he may have never had a record in his life and went mentally nuts one day for all we know.
I wonder what he did? That would make a big difference in our judgment of him!

hmm... I have mixed feelings. I am definitely for gun control but to leave this guy bleeding to death (what was it like? 30-40 secs into the video when the cops finally get onto the scene?) then airlifting the dog and not the guy?
