Default Tornado Hits Close to Down Town Minneapolis
I don't know if you heard, but yesterday afternoon a Tornado hit just South of Down Town Minneapolis. I went online yesterday when I heard about it and saw that the worst hit area was just off 35 W and 31st Street, which is exactly where our house is!

Luckily our house and our whole block did not get any damage, but just a few blocks away, huge trees had come down and damaged cars and houses. Also a lot of windows had blown out and parts of roofs had blown off. So we got pretty lucky! We just had a power outage for a while due to downed electrical lines.

Here are some pictures of the damage and the storm:

WoW....I know my Mom called me early evening yesterday to say she was at work without power and pretty much the whole county here in IL was without power as a severe storm and tornados went through the area....my parents live about 1.5 hours north east of where I live.....wonder if this was the same storm that went through there as she had me check the radar online and I noticed that storm front went from just north east of STL all the way up past Chicago.

Wow, Robert. You must have been worried.

After looking at the pictures of all the tree damage, I'm surprised to not have seen as much damage to dwellings.

A number of years back one hit our home. I can tell you it's no fun. The damage can be more than overwhelming. We tend not to be thankfull for what we have until we no longer have it. Glad it miss your home.
