I saw Terrence perform the Malcolm X Suite in its entirety during my one and only visit to the Village Vanguard, a fabulous gig that I will never forget. My travelling companion at the time was an Australian ex-pat from New Guinea who was more intent on hitting Irish bars and hitting on American women. When we arrived at the Vanguard, he pronounced that he loved jazz and promptly fell asleep, snoring loudly. I had to elbow him throughout the whole set to stop the noise.

Later that night we crashed the Saturday Night Live season wrap party where he accosted Paul Simon, but that's another story.

...he lives in a big-ass, 'Gone With The Wind' style mansion on Prytania St.

Who says jazz doesn't pay.:-)

Default What type of Jazz is Terrence?
I couldn't get the link to work, but I've seen Terence play about a half dozen times. I'd put his style more or less in the Straight-ahead jazz catagory. His performance style. His compositional style encompasses quite a bit more, especially the film stuff.
