Ouch. Glad to hear the driver survived with only minor injuries.
But I bet he won't have a job after this.

I can relate. 2 weeks ago I had several microsleeps on my way up to Sydney to deliver my design contest entry. The lines woke me up. Could've killed myself quite easily.
2 large buckets of coffee and a Red Bull were good only for 3 minutes. I had to stop on average every 7 minutes.
But I had to meet a deadline.

Good to hear the driver is alive and well, especially after reading that he had rolled for 100 feet!
You can hardly say a car is boring because someone fell asleep while driving. It happens.

How long a drive was that?
I think it's amazing what one hour of sleep can do. I covered ~900 miles in about 15 hours once. -Longest I have ever driven. I had lots of coffee, red bull and ate fast food on that trip and the day prior to that. I took one 1-hour nap in the middle of it and I was ready to roll again. Needles to say after all that junk food, I only ate vegetables for the next 2 days.

300km... so 186 miles I think.
I was pressed for time as I had to deliver my design contest entry in Sydney by 5pm - I got there a full 45 seconds before the deadline. LOL.

I read somewhere recently that the biggest cause of accidents in Australia is boredom!
I also remember a Jeremy Clarkson motorworld a while back that featured the Australian 'road trains'!
If you saw or heard one of them mo' fo's coming it would certainly wake you up!

I've heard of that being done here in the U.S. but I've never seen one. Would definitely be a sight.
