Default Floods in Worcester UK
Worcester in the UK is mad at the moment, abandened cars litter the streets after they've tried to get through flood water, Bridges have collapsed and roads have disintergrated.
To make it worse, scumbags have been robbing items from the cars that people have left.
Most of the roads are closed and those that are open have got tailbacks - taking 2 hours to do a 5 minute journey.
A baby was delivered in a caravan on the motorway during a 9 hour traffic jam.
More rain on the way too! Who else has experienced this sort of thing?

Weather in the UK has been rubbish since early May. Rain, rain and more rain. No let-up in sight.

Do you reckon this is climate change then?
I've been very scepitcal with global warming, I reckon there are a lot of environmentalists out there using anti-car properganda. I think cars haven't helped, but we would have had climate change anyway.. just a little later that's all.

That's mother nature at its best.
Just a few days ago in the northeast US, heavy thunderstorm in just a short hour created a [large] puddle of water everywhere; same in Houston when I was there not long ago.
Norm of the summer season in the northern hemisphere.
As the expression goes - when it rains, it pours...

I don't know. Reports show old lakes disappearing around the world and new ones appearing in a very short time frame.

Because I live outside London the rain was heavy but we didn't get any floods. I think this rain was suppose to be saved for our winter so we can have lots of snow but crap happens.
I think this could be something to do with climate change or its just random....

Weather is cyclical. These are the worst floods since 1947 (1953 was bad too, but that was a combo of storm and spring tides). The upper atmosphere winds and locations of high pressure areas mean we in the UK are getting lots of moist air, whereas elsewhere in Europe, it's been hot, too hot. Romania for example has been having heat waves.
Some meteorologists are hinting that the high over the Azores might shift north in August, so our summer will finally arrive. Having said that, I'm in North Wales and it's fine here. Blue skies and sunshine. Today.

You're kidding right? Global climatic change is a fact, not fiction. The most readily apparent cause is build-up of greenhouse gases, and one of the primary contributors to greenhouse gases are automobiles. none of this is about being an environmentalist or being pro or against cars. It is hard, measurable fact.
Sure factory output also puts out major amounts of pollution, as does fires from burning of forests. clearing of vast swaths of forests around the world are also limiting the ability of the planet to naturally re-absorb excess co2. at the end of the day, while it is possible that factory output and forest clearing will have eventually caused similar conditions, continued and increased use of automobiles running on fossil fuels have definitely exacerbated the problem.

To be honest i'm not sure what the truth is. I do think that the greens exadurate the facts a bit, i mean modern cars have got a lot better emitions than they did, but I am aware that cars and there emissions are a big cause.

I'm not trying to be rude (and I'm not what I would necessarily call an environmentalist), but my previous post wasn't a question.

You're kidding right? Sorry, I thought that was a question.
It's just my views on the situation. I know facts are facts, and all I was saying is that in my opinion the facts are sometimes exadurated to suit the anti-car movement. But it's just my opinion which I share with a few people I know.
Sorry if i've offended anyone, but to each his own.

La Nia (Nina)
or
El Nio (Nino)
BTW, I've come across a lot of people who dont believe in Global Warming. Mainly because people dont believe what they dont want to have to deal with.
