So I open my WMP and i see this
![]() all the tags are messed up! For no apparent reason either. I've tried to re-install the player. I've scanned my computer for anything that could be affecting this. I scanned all my media files. I tried to fix the tags myself but got this ![]() it won't let me edit it! anyone have some adivce? ![]() |

Try uninstalling the entire thing, restart your computer, and reinstall it again. Also, if you have iTunes, attempt to play those files in iTunes to see if it happens there as well. Have you attempted to actually edit the tags outside of WMP? If the problem appears on the actual file, then there's something wrong with the music files themselves and not the program.

I uninstalled WMP 11, and installed WMP 10, all the tags are fine in WMP 10 and everything is normal. I installed iTunes, again, everything is fine, all the tags are as they should be. The actual file names are unchanged. I re-installed WMP 11 and the same problem occurs. This happened 2 days ago. Thanks for the advice, but I'l let it be for now, and stick to iTunes.
