I have a Zen Sleek Photo and it is fab. I looked at the Vision:M and was amazed by the sheer brilliance and sharpness of the OLED display. The images just jump out at you. Just too expensive for me at the time.

I'm an iPod man. But I only recomend and love them because they are just so good. Easy to use, light, small, great quality, look amazing, just a few scratching problems. The new Zen models are great, but they lack origionality, IMO they are oversized iPods. Though the Zen models have so much gear with them.
I vote iPod because they IMO are the best. My 30g is amazing. Nothing has went wrong with it, the best iPod I've owned ever. My nano is still going strong, even though I've done so much crap to it, poor thing. But go and try them out dude, you may prefer the Zen functions as your used to them?

Do you use a Mac? Or do you run Linux? If neither, you're a trendwhore, too.

I own a Mac, therefore I own an iPod. Being an owner of a 30GB iPod video, I would highly recommend it over a Creative Zen because it's easy to use, not too bulky, pretty good quality, and you've just gotta love the looks

I know its slightly off-topic, but if you may be looking for a good flash player, SanDisk has just come out with their E200 Series, and it is getting rave reviews. I'm even considering buying one as a secondary work-out mp3 player since they're so great.

Bulky? They're the same size. The Zen is just a bit thicker. But the screen is sooo much better. See this comparison article http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=31530

No, no, and no.
I use a PC because of cost constraints, the fact I want to step away from the oh so arty farty mac crowd and the fact I like my PC games.

If someone buying an iPod automatically makes him/her a trendwhore (unless it's a Mac user like me, since the only MP3 player avaliable for Mac users is pretty much the iPod...), buying a PC makes a person a trendwhore by default, as well. Let's not use double standards here.
But, of course, this isn't completely comprable, as the iPod is a superior product in some respects while Windows just has lots of software (and it hates me, too, I think).

...a bit thicker?!?!? The thing is damn near twice as thick as the ipod, and the back is made out of crummy plastic!

I know I'd rather be a trendwhore than someone who goes out of their way to try to be different from anyone else. I website dedictaed to everything but iPod is pathetic, it's like me creating a web sites about 4WD's and calling it http://www.everythingbutlandcruisers.com despite the fact the LandCruiser is a capable and honest vehicle, and is the top of its class. Just like the iPod.
But Aiden it all comes down to your choice. If your only buying an iPod to go with the crowd, then that's not that cool. But if your buying a Creative to be different and stand out, that's just as bad. Buy whatever you think is the best unit, go and try both out and trust your opinions

The reason why the site was created is simple, the ipod isn't the only thing on the market that plays music, nor is it the best or worst.

Apple makes a half decent mp3 player. I own or have owned several different Apple MP3 players. However, I feel that there are better choices available. There are other MP3 players out there that are easier to use, that give you more for your money and still have style and class. The problem is many people do not know what else is available. I talk to many people that think an iPod is their only choice. This is why this web site was started, to show people their alternatives and to educate them so they are able to make their own informed decisions.
With the iPod there are no decisions to make; you give up your right to choose. You are just another face in the crowd, with the same player and the same service. With other mp3 players you have the right to choose from several different services and with those services you are able to choose which player matches you as an individual.
This website is dedicated to individuals that can think for themselves. Individuals that can make a decision based on the facts not what corporations or the media dictates. Individuals that do not need TV to tell them what to do, how to think, or what to buy. This web site presents the other options and you make the educated decision. You choose what fits your lifestyle, not a mass-branded lifestyle given to you by someone else.
Think for yourself. Be an individual.

Update: Response to the Hate Mail
This site is here to present the other options, not to bash and hate the iPod. So dont come here bashing this site with no supporting facts just because it goes against the grain. If you want an iPod, go buy one! Dont waste our readers time as well as your own by spreading your uninformed rhetoric.

He just proved the point that he's bashing the iPod, because he basically says that anyone that buys one is a mindless drone that only listens to marketers. Personally, what he says I take offense to, because I DID think for myself and I DID look at other players and the iPod was the best (by far) when I purchased it. Let me note, however, that since I bought mine a bunch of other great players have come along that would have made my choice a whole lot more difficult. (and like I said above, I am considering purchasing a non-apple Flash player to use as a secondary player since it is BETTER than the nano)

Another thing to consider here is iTunes.
It's a great service, but what they dont tell you is that once you buy an iTunes song (in aac format) you won't be able to put it on any player that doesnt use that format.
Apple's oh so loveable way of keeping you with their brand.

I know this is probably off-topic, but it might be handy,
Search on Google for 'ImToo' - this is great software for converting CD's and Videos. (there a different versions of the program that do different things.
